USS Iwo Jima LPH-2
All the sections for the restoration of the USS Iwo Jima, LPH-2 island (that is everything from the deck up) are here at the Museum of the American G.I. in College Station, Texas and are ready for reassembly. The plan is to assemble the structure alongside the parking lot, with the parking lot taking on the appearance of the flight deck. A museum will be located in the bow of the ship. When assembled she will stand 125 feet in the air and will be seen from miles around.
